Goncord Oil | Product Introduction to Ester-Based Oils for High-Temperature Chains

Goncord Oil | Product Introduction to Ester-Based Oils for High-Temperature Chains

Insufficient performance of chain oil can lead to machine downtime during operation, increased maintenance frequency, reduced energy efficiency, poor oil–water separation, and a tendency toward emulsification—potentially even causing chain deformation and breakage. High‑quality, high‑performance synthetic esters offer advantages such as appropriate lubricity for chains and ratchets, excellent thermal‑oxidative stability, and superior adhesion. Following a series of rigorous tests, the following ester types are recommended as suitable options for chain‑oil applications.

Goncord Oil | Product Introduction to High-Viscosity Polyalphaolefin-Polyester Blends Containing Ester Groups

Ester‑based PAO series, when burned or evaporated under high‑temperature conditions, do not produce smoke, hazardous gases, or carbon residues; therefore, they can be formulated into low‑smoke, environmentally friendly two‑stroke engine oils or industrial gear oils. When used as a base oil, ester‑based PAO exhibits neutral to slightly swelling behavior toward common sealing materials, and when blended with PAO or paraffinic base oils, its advantage is that no additional ester‑swelling agents are required.

Goncord Oil | Introduction to Ester-Based Base Oils for Internal Combustion Engine Oils and Industrial Oils

The ester‑based base oils for internal combustion engines are produced by reacting neopentyl polyols with saturated fatty acids under specific, proprietary process conditions, followed by a specialized post‑treatment refining step. They are particularly well suited as base stocks for engine oils in viscosity grades such as 0W‑16, 0W‑20, 0W‑30, 0W‑40, and 0W‑50. These esters can be blended into PAO, GTL oils, and Group III hydrogenated base oils.

Lubricants | Introduction to the Polyalkylene Glycol Series

Selecting pour‑point depressants, pour‑point‑reducing viscosity index improvers, and poly(methyl methacrylate)‑based base oils in lubricant formulation is a challenging task; in addition to the base oil, other formulation components can also exert significant influence. Consequently, choosing the right ingredients is critical to the performance and quality of the final lubricant.

Classification and Characteristics of Base Oils in Metalworking Oils/Liquids

Classification and Characteristics of Base Oils in Metalworking Oils/Liquids

Metalworking oils and fluids consist of base oils and additives, with base oils accounting for the vast majority—70% to 95% in neat oils and 30% to 85% in water-based formulations such as emulsions and microemulsions. The base oil is fundamental, while additives are critical. Consequently, whether considering product performance or cost control, the selection of base oils plays a pivotal role in metalworking oils and fluids.

High‑temperature chain oil is a patented, synthetic, multi‑functional lubricant containing polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) lubricating particles. It is particularly well suited for precision instruments, mechanical components operating under high‑temperature conditions, and heavy‑duty, high‑load equipment. As a synthetic formulation, it exhibits excellent adhesion, remaining stable without loss, dripping, evaporation, drying out, or forming sticky carbon deposits. Its service temperature range spans from –40°C to 260°C.

Analysis of the Current Status and Development Prospects of China’s Lubricant Industry

Analysis of the Current Status and Development Prospects of China’s Lubricant Industry

The lubricants industry is a vital component of the petrochemical sector, serving diverse sectors of the national economy—particularly the industrial economy—and closely tied to overall macroeconomic conditions. As a key indicator of economic health, the ratio of lubricant consumption to GDP in developed economies generally remains at a relatively reasonable level. In contrast, China’s lubricant‑to‑GDP ratio is disproportionately high, with a consumption intensity of 55. This imbalance stems not only from the rapid pace of economic growth but, more significantly, from inefficient and wasteful lubricant use. At present, China’s consumption intensity far exceeds both the global average and that of developed countries.

Just now, we explored with you the common types of extreme-pressure and anti-wear additives.

Common types of extreme-pressure and anti-wear additives: Extreme-pressure and anti-wear additives are important lubricant grease additives, most of which are compounds containing sulfur, phosphorus, chlorine, lead, or molybdenum. Under normal conditions, chlorine- and sulfur-based additives enhance the load-carrying capacity of the grease and prevent metal surfaces from seizing, galling, or scratching under high-load conditions; meanwhile, phosphorus-based additives and organic metal salts exhibit superior anti-wear performance, helping to prevent or reduce wear on metal surfaces under moderate-load conditions.
