What is the difference between refrigeration compressor oil and ordinary industrial lubricants?

What is the difference between refrigeration compressor oil and ordinary industrial lubricants?

Refrigeration oil is a specialized segment of industrial lubricants. In addition to the typical functions of industrial lubricants—lubrication, sealing, and cleaning—it must also withstand direct contact with refrigerants and operate under extreme temperatures and pressures. Conventional lubricants, often containing cycloalkanes, can readily react with ammonia refrigerants, solidify at very low temperatures, and form carbon deposits at high temperatures. For these reasons, refrigeration oils are distinguished as a separate category. So, what exactly sets refrigeration oil apart from ordinary industrial lubricants?

Basic Process for Synthetic Ester Lubricants

Synthetic lubricants, including synthetic lubricating oils and synthetic greases, offer superior performance compared with petroleum-based lubricants in terms of high- and low-temperature resistance, high-vacuum stability, chemical stability, flame retardancy, and radiation resistance. They are employed in demanding lubrication applications for both military and civilian equipment.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of commonly used viscosity index improvers?

The performance of viscosity index improvers directly affects the smoothness of vehicle operation. Currently, the four most common types of viscosity index improvers are polyisobutylene (PIB), polymethyl acrylate (PMA), olefin‑carbon monomer copolymer (OCP), and hydrogenated styrene‑diene copolymer (HSD).

Applications and Characteristics of Heavy Oil Pour Point Depressants

Applications and Characteristics of Heavy Oil Pour Point Depressants

Product application: Prepare a solution prior to use and dose it into the crude oil according to the specified ratio. When the crude oil has a high pour point, the dosage may be increased accordingly. For steam‑huff‑and‑puff pretreatment in heavy‑oil reservoirs, the formulation can be prepared by mixing hot water from the central processing station at a 1:100 ratio. During application, the wellbore temperature should generally not fall below 60°C. Inject the prepared solution into the well through the annulus; the pump action ensures thorough mixing of the agent with the heavy oil, achieving viscosity reduction and enhanced production. The specific application, formulation ratio, and concentration may be adjusted based on the actual water content of the well.

Applications of Synthetic Esters in Metalworking Fluids

Applications of Synthetic Esters in Metalworking Fluids

The development trend of metalworking fluids calls for characteristics such as non-toxicity, low odor, minimal oil mist, extended service life, reduced wastewater treatment costs, and high biodegradability. Synthetic ester‑based product lines that meet these requirements are increasingly being incorporated into metalworking fluid formulations. Among them, isooctyl oleate and trimethylolpropane oleate stand out, playing a crucial role in metalworking fluids by replacing conventional ingredients like sulfurized tallow, refined tallow, and fatty acids. This substitution further enhances the lubricity, environmental compatibility, and service life of the fluids. Commonly used oleate esters include polyol‑based oleates—such as trimethylolpropane oleate—and mono‑oleate esters—such as isooctyl oleate.
